Having less than perfect credit does not cancel out your credit card options. In fact, just the opposite is true. These days, credit card lenders issue plastic for every need under the sun. This includes cards designed specifically for those with poor credit. By taking advantage of bad credit credit card offers, you can get back on your financial feet in no time. Read on to learn more about bad credit credit card offers.

Prepaid Debit Cards

If you have trouble getting approved for a traditional credit card, a prepaid debit card is a smart alternative. With this option, you first deposit money into your account. You can then use your card to make purchases. To help you stay on track, your line of credit is limited to the amount you have deposited. By putting money into your account and making purchases, you will rebuild your credit. For two great prepaid options, check out the All-Access Visa Prepaid Card and the Wired Plastic Prepaid Visa Card.

Secured Credit Cards

Another option for those with bad credit is a secured credit card. This type of card requires you to open a savings account. The account serves as security for the line of credit. The credit available to you is a percentage of your deposit. This usually ranges from 50 to 100 percent. If you pay off your balance consistently, over time your line of credit will increase. A secured credit card usually includes an annual fee and high interest rate.

First Premier and Orchard

Perhaps you plan to occasionally carry a balance on your card. If this is the case, there are various bad credit credit card offers available. First Premier Bank issues cards designed for those with poor credit. First Premier Bank credit cards offer low interest rates and the chance to improve your credit rating. You can be approved instantly for one of their cards. Check out the First Premier Bank Gold MasterCard/Visa to get you started.

Orchard Bank also caters to those with a poor credit history. The Orchard Bank Platinum MasterCard offers a low interest rate on purchases. It also regularly reports to credit bureaus. This gives you a chance to use your card, pay off balances, and have creditors take notice.

Both First Premier and Orchard Bank cards include a number of fees. First Premier Bank charges initial fees of $29 and $95, as well as a monthly participation fee and annual fee. Orchard Bank requires a high annual fee.

These expenses may seem high. However, it is important to remember that these companies are offering cards to those with poor credit. Most bad credit credit card offers include extra fees due to the risks involved. Yet these cards are designed to help you improve your credit rating. Once you show that you can handle these cards wisely, you can apply for other offers.

Don’t let poor credit get you down. There are many bad credit credit card offers available. Choose the option that’s best for you and then apply online. With careful planning, you can improve your credit score. Soon you’ll be in good standings once again with lenders. This can open many more financial doors in your future.

By: Ed Vegliante

If you’re reading this article right now, there’s a good chance you have bad credit. Does bad credit make you a bad person? Absolutely not. As the years go on this earth, the debt continues to go on as well. In fact, over thirty to forty percent of all Americans have some sort of debt that doesn’t include their mortgage. So, the question is, “What do you do when you have awful credit and no where to turn?” The answer is quite simple, apply for a secured credit card.

A secured credit card is a great way to re-establish your credit. Instead of applying for a bad credit credit card and have a low success rate of being approved, you should turn your head to a secured credit card where your chances of getting approved are almost one hundred percent. With such a high approval rate, this is why many people turn to a secured credit card when they are looking to re-establish their credit.

If you’re not familiar on how a secured credit card works, I’ll guide you through the process. Keep in mind that this type of card is very different than a regular credit card. When you apply for a secured credit card, chances are they you’ll be approved. This is because you’ll have to supply the credit card companies with a deposit The reason you’ll have to supply the companies with a deposit is because if you don’t pay off your bills, they will have something to fall back on.

Depending on what credit card you apply for, most credit cards only make you supply them with anywhere from three hundred to five hundred dollars to start. Usually, whatever you supply the credit card company with, this is going to be your credit limit. So, if you try to spend more than what you deposited, you’re going to find that you’re going to get denied for the purchase.

When you’re looking to apply for a secured credit card, make sure that the card you’re looking at reports to all of the three major credit bureaus. Most of the time, the credit cards will. If not, this will defeat the purpose of applying for a card to establish your credit all over again. Yes, a secured card will help build your credit because you’re technically still “borrowing” money from the company to prove that you can pay it off. Like I mentioned above though, if you can’t pay it off, the company will take away from your deposit. You’ll want to avoid this though because like in the past with your credit, you’ll want to avoid it because it will affect your credit.

If you’re looking to re-establish your credit and you have had no luck applying for credit cards, make sure you tend to avoid the bad credit credit cards and go the secured credit card route. If you learn your lesson from your credit past, you should make a change in your spending and you’ll be able to get the better cards and have better credit in no time.

By: Tom Tessin

If you have bad credit, then you are probably wondering what kind of credit card you can and should get. Although they may not always be easy to find, credit cards for bad credit are available. And contrary to popular belief, even those with poor credit and no credit have options when it comes to credit cards. This article will explore those options so that you can get on to rebuilding your credit right away.

The first type of credit cards for bad credit are secured credit cards. These cards are available to almost anyone, even individuals with a record of bankruptcy or very bad credit. This is because these cards are of the prepay variety. When you are issued a secured credit card, you make your own deposit that becomes your credit line. And if you use your card wisely, you might be eligible for credit beyond your deposit.

The second type of credit cards for bad credit are high interest credit cards. These cards may not seem like a good idea, but for some people they can be. A high interest rate makes up for the fact that you are not trustworthy in the bank’s eyes. And if you carry a low balance on your card, you can start rebuilding or establishing credit without spending too much in interest.

Another option you have when it comes to credit cards for bad credit are low balance cards. These cards come with a low spending limit and are available from all the major card companies including visa and mastercard. Best of all, if you make your payments on time and don’t go over the spending limit, you may become eligible for a higher spending limit over time!

By: Sarah Freeland

Are there credit cards for bad credit? The answer is yes. If you have been over 30 days late on loan, charge card, or mortgage payments, if you have unpaid medical bills, or if you have legal judgments against you such as child support or other lawsuits, you may have “bad credit”. There are many of us who have been unable to keep up with our monthly bills and have fallen behind in the last 12-24 months.

You may be thinking there are no options or credit cards for bad credit. That is not true. Access to a credit card is almost required in this age of technology we live in. This increasing need for consumers to make credit card purchases creates the demand for more and more credit cards for bad credit.

There are three types of credit cards that are available for people with bad credit. The first type is called a prepaid credit card. With a prepaid card, you get out of it exactly what you put in. Similar to a checking account, you deposit a certain amount of money into an account and this is your spending limit. When your prepaid credit card balance reaches $0, you can “recharge” it by depositing more money into your account. Prepaid cards are great for budgeting, online purchases, and those that cannot obtain a conventional checking account. Approval is usually guaranteed regardless of your credit score and there is no need to deal with the credit bureaus.

The second type of card you can obtain is a secured credit card. With a secured card, you deposit a cash amount into an interest-bearing savings account. This amount becomes your collateral. You are then issued a card and a line of credit in the amount of your deposit. When you make purchases, your credit limit decreases, monthly payments are calculated, and you are sent a bill. If you make purchases, a monthly payment is expected just like a regular credit card. Secured cards are great because they function like regular credit cards allowing you to book travel arrangements such as hotels and rental cars that do not accept prepaid cards or debit cards. Like prepaid cards, approval is usually guaranteed regardless of your credit score. Unlike prepaid cards, many secured card issuers report payments to credit bureaus. This can be a great way to establish or re-establish your creditworthiness by showing timely payments. After several consecutive timely payments, many secured card issuers will increase your credit limit without requiring an additional deposit.

The third option is an unsecured credit card. This is a regular charge card that does not require a deposit, and your credit score is taken into consideration. If you have bad credit, the limit on an unsecured card may be lower than a person with good credit, and you may be subject to slightly higher interest rates and/or fees, but the advantage is that you will not have to make any kind of deposit up front. Many unsecured credit cards for bad credit come with credit limits up to $1000. Making small purchases and timely monthly payments can help you re-establish creditworthiness as most unsecured card issuers report your payments to the credit bureaus.

By: Ken S
